A US Army Sgt. bows his head in dismay after hearing one of his ANP (Afghan National Police) comrades was killed by an IED blast.
-The name of the fallen Police Officer is Gulam Dostager. He was close with many of the paratroopers who were imbedded with his patrol. There are some more photos of the incident, but I think this one says it all. The Afghan people aren’t all sympathetic to Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, many of them truly value the hard work of our soldiers, and many deserve to have us fight with them. Don’t ever forget what we are fighting for. There are still many painful years of this war to come.

My swedish friend
"There was a time when men served – when to not serve was deemed cowardice. There was a time when Captain America, the weak little kid who couldn’t enlist because he was too small and sickly but never gave up until he could wear the uniform, was our gold standard of manhood, service, and patriotism."

This guy was told by his Homeowners Association that he couldn’t fly the American flag in his front yard.
This is why I am proud to be American.
